Sun - NOWNESS

For short dance film Sun, director Valentina Khodnevich and choreographer Hannah Joseph celebrate the routines of human life – where the quality of light dictates the quality of life. Exploring the differentiations between sunlight and electric light, dancer Spike King performs in rural surroundings, expanding on the idea that artificial light may affect our routines in the context of modern human life.

Portraying the human experience as a cyclical journey through dance, the protagonist relives the same day repeatedly – incorporates mechanical movements inspired by the ordinary tasks of daily life, such as brewing coffee or brushing teeth, while different environments build new context around each set of movements.
